FREELANCE PROJECTS

Our Community Partnerships also include the creation of signature films that use film as a means to explore social issues. Our Freelancers Program support this work.

Experienced Light House teen filmmakers help create films for area nonprofits and businesses. Students pitch ideas, write a script, storyboard, film, and edit the final project, which is shown at live screenings, online, and on local television. Recent partners include Live Arts, Beloved Community Cville, Habitat for Humanity, and the Local Food Hub.

THE MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS PUBLIC AWARENESS SUMMIT

The Mental Health Crisis Public Awareness Summit was a three-day event, which included various panels and group discussions. Participants in the event included hospitalists, mental/behavioral health executives, practitioners, and subject matter experts with lived personal and professional experiences.

Light House Studio created a video documenting the summit, helping to highlight and bring awareness to an issue affecting not just our community but the entire country.

"Working with Light House on 16 videos for our racial history tour has been an amazing experience! Deanna Gould, Rachel Lane, and their staff have been thoughtful collaborators in helping us achieve our mission - highlighting stories that reveal a more complete and inclusive history of Charlottesville."

- Elizabeth Shillue, Founder and Director of Beloved Community Cville
