CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Ten teams will have just 72 hours to write, film, and edit short films for this year’s Adrenaline Film Project.

Light House Studio says the 18th annual Adrenaline Film Project will take place Oct. 18 to 22 at the Vinegar Hill Theatre.

According to a release, the final versions of the short films will screen at 8 p.m. Oct. 22, followed by an awards presentation.

Attendees will have a chance to participate in the judging process for the Audience Award.

Each of the teams will be assigned a genre, line of dialogue, and prop that must be incorporated into a three-to-five-minute original film.

Teams will be guided by film industry professionals, including Directors Guild of America award nominee Jeff Wadlow, Emmy Award-winning producer Steve Robillard, Independent Spirit Award nominee Han West, and Light House Studio Program Director Rachel Lane.

Film locations need to be within a 30-mile radius of downtown Charlottesville, but teams will have access to the studio’s database of actors to make them.

The release says six of last year’s competition films were accepted into nine national film festivals, with three of them winning awards.
