Morven: A History through the Landscape traces the varied past of a multi-thousand acre plot of land in Albemarle County, Virginia. Experts tell the stories of certain eras, ranging from accounts of Thomas Jefferson walking the border, to personal memories by family members of past owners. Although detailed information about the land is not readily available for some pieces of time, the film still strives to show a vivid portrait of Morven and its history. Concentrating on visuals and immersing the viewer in the world and perspective of each era, the narrators are never shown. The focus always remains on the land.
