Filmmaking, especially in the beginning, is all about taking chances, making mistakes, and getting messy. This eight week course allows young filmmakers who are exploring their interests or perhaps beginning their careers to do so in a safe and creative environment. This is a Do It Yourself class, students learn through hands-on experiences with the equipment, while discussions and exercises help them to independently create a group short film. There will be an emphasis on the major roles of a film crew: writer, director, cinematographer, sound, production designer, and editor. The ultimate goal of this weekly course is to build a foundation for those who want to be the future of visual storytelling.
