We kicked off our first VFXplorers & Young Directors camps for our youngest filmmakers, ages 8 – 11, last week! Check out this behind the scenes look at Young Directors.
On Monday our Young Directors camp began and everyone got to know each other. Campers discussed the different elements that make up a movie with Clarence and the other mentors.
On Tuesday, campers explored storytelling using Story Cubes and acted out different skits they came up with. As you can see, there were some “flashes” of brilliance!
On Wednesday, campers worked hard to come up with ideas for their short films. They learned about storyboarding, scriptwriting, location scouting, and all the other elements that go into planning a movie.
On Thursday campers made their ideas come to life. They learned about directing, filming, and acting.
Finally, after a busy week the campers were prepared to share their films. The screening was held in the newly renovated Vinegar Hill Theatre and afterwards campers answered questions about what they learned in camp.
Thanks for a great week, Young Directors! Elementary school students, we still have a few spots open in VFXplorers this summer and we’d love for you to join us!
