Light House is offering the opportunity to learn Apple’s most advanced version of the world’s most popular editing software: Final Cut Pro X. This workshop will be taught by Stace Carter, a professional editor, Director of University Visual, and a filmmaking instructor at UVA. Stace is an Apple Certified Trainer for Final Cut Pro X and has been editing for 20 years. Here is your chance to learn advanced editing techniques from an expert!
Mentor: Stace Carter has been creating content for commercial and academic projects for over 20 years. He serves as an advisory board member for the Apple Distinguished Educator’s program, Director of University Visual, and teaches digital storytelling, photography and editing in workshops and classes across the United States. Stace began creating “MOOCs” (Massive Open Online Courses) in 2012 with the University of Virginia, which have enrolled nearly one million students. Expertise includes design for the humanities, business, and interdisciplinary education. He co-authored the multimedia case study and documentary short film “Deepwater Horizon: After the Oil Spills” (Darden Business Publishing), an exploration of the stakeholder relationships and ethical considerations leaders face in crisis. His photography has appeared in the New York Times, books by Phaedon Press and Harper Collins, and in other publications.
Stace is the Technical Director and a mentor for the Virginia Film Festival’s Adrenaline Film Workshop, and an Apple Certified Trainer for Final Cut Pro and Apple Motion.
