Attention, boils and ghouls! Do you like horror movies? Monsters in fog shrouded castles? Knife wielding summer camp killers? Aliens and werewolves and poltergeists, oh my? Well, now is your chance to study the genre, from silent films to full color modern nightmares. We’ll explore theories about what makes horror work, and why people love being scared. So sign up today! It’s sure to be a scream.
Michael Leonberger is a writer, filmmaker, horror make-up effects artist, and teacher. He has an obsessive love of the horror genre, from gothic literature to modern slasher movies.
“Michael Leonberger is a full-time educator by day, and a blood spilling, gut churning, zombie-monster-vampire-you-name-it movie aficionado by night. He’s perfected the “gross makeup look” for King’s Dominion Halloween Haunt multiple years in a row, owns an overwhelming DVD collection, and has an impressive film festival rap sheet to boot. If your film interests lie on the scarier side, “Michael’s Horror Workshop” is a must,” says Amanda Patterson, Light House Studio’s Lead Mentor and dear friend of Michael.
